The LineUp at Wai Kai is seeking skilled, reliable Cooks to join our Food & Beverage team at one of West O?ahu’s premier waterfront destinations. This role supports food preparation across the property, including The Lookout Food & Drink, Wave Bar, Foam Coffee & Bar, and catering for events and group experiences.
This position is ideal for a cook who values consistency, takes pride in quality execution, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced kitchen environment that supports a refined yet approachable guest experience.

Prepare and execute menu items with consistency, accuracy, and attention to quality
Maintain high standards for food production and presentation at all times
Coordinate food timing to meet guest expectations and operational flow
Follow proper food rotation, labeling, and dating procedures to ensure freshness
Break down and properly store workstation items at the end of each shift
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and prep environment
Minimize food waste and utilize ingredients efficiently
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen setup procedures
Keep refrigeration and storage areas clean, organized, and properly maintained
Assist in controlling food costs through proper portioning and preparation
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, front-of-house teams, and management
Assist with daily product purchasing, receiving, and inventory rotation
Read and understand Event Orders and contracts to ensure proper menu execution and timing
Adapt to different kitchen stations and service demands as business needs evolve
Set a positive example through professionalism, teamwork, and work ethic
Perform other related duties as assigned
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
ServSafe certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Experience with kitchen equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures
Solid knife skills and foundational food preparation techniques
Culinary school education preferred
Minimum two years of experience using various cooking techniques preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or similar environment preferred
Reliable, organized, and able to work well under pressure
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical kitchen tasks
